Lykos Beldekas started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes, Steaua Bucuresti's Aigeus Theodoratos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Orthros Iymperopoulou came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Steaua Bucuresti reached it. In the 4th minute, Charis Poniros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Phaiakes Taflambas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Orthros Iymperopoulou was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Alkeides Galanopoulos's late challenge caught a Steaua Bucuresti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 16th minute Ekhemos Kouropoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orthros Iymperopoulou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Arístinon FC booed when Steaua Bucuresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Briarios Sardelis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Arístinon FC's Deukalion Angelopoulos tried to score from far away in the 21st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Apsyrtos Vrettos was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ekhemos Akrivopoulos. The audience thought a goal was coming when Renos Manetas got free with Apsyrtos Vrettos in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Steaua Bucuresti's Phaiakes Taflambas in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Arístinon FC's goalie prevented a goal. 34 minutes into the match, Renos Manetas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Apsyrtos Vrettos. Steaua Bucuresti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Renos Manetas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. When Renos Manetas came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Arístinon FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renos Manetas couldn't finish the play. Apsyrtos Vrettos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lykos Beldekas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th match minute, Steaua Bucuresti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giorgos Skouzas to maneuver through the defense. Lykos Beldekas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Apsyrtos Vrettos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ekhemos Kouropoulos made a kick off. Orthros Iymperopoulou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ekhemos Kouropoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Apsyrtos Vrettos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renos Manetas in the 56th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Arístinon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ekhemos Kouropoulos came free, but Orthros Iymperopoulou reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ekhemos Kouropoulos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orthros Iymperopoulou having to interfere. A collision led to Steaua Bucuresti getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Briarios Sardelis hit a great ball. In the 68th minute, Renos Manetas made a precise shot to the right of Apsyrtos Vrettos. Steaua Bucuresti's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. After 72 played minutes Steaua Bucuresti got a freekick which was hit by Briarios Sardelis. Renos Manetas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Renos Manetas came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Arístinon FC fans jumped to their feet. Apsyrtos Vrettos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lykos Beldekas's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. In the 86th minute, Renos Manetas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 87 minutes into the game, Lykos Beldekas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Apsyrtos Vrettos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Steaua Bucuresti's Apsyrtos Vrettos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lykos Beldekas in the 92nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Briarios Sardelis during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 93 played minutes Steaua Bucuresti got a freekick which was hit by Briarios Sardelis.
