FC NATIONAL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phaiakes Paraskevopoulos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexandre Sampaio got free with Bogdan Lobonț in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 13th match minute, FC NATIONAL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aiakos Karahalios to maneuver through the defense. FC NATIONAL's Bogdan Lobonț proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save FC NATIONAL from getting a goal against them. In the 20th match minute, FC NATIONAL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paraskevas Sorin to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute of the match, Matej Dupal tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bogdan Lobonț saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octavian Popescu in the 33rd minute of play forced Bulldogs F.C's goalkeeper Francisco Borges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Túlio Maravilha in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bogdan Lobonț prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Túlio Maravilha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Bulldogs F.C getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Medero Jordo hit a great ball. After having played for 43 minutes, Phaiakes Paraskevopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alexandre Sampaio was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 48th minute. Bulldogs F.C's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alexandre Sampaio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the match, FC NATIONAL's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandre Sampaio came free, but Bogdan Lobonț reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC NATIONAL's Bogdan Lobonț played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Sampaio in the 60th minute of play. Túlio Maravilha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogdan Lobonț having to interfere. Francisco Borges showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Octavian Popescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Octavian Popescu had several of the Bulldogs F.C's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 71 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Francisco Borges as he didn't even see the shot coming. Francisco Borges showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phaiakes Paraskevopoulos in the 94th minute of the match. Benediktas Kantauskas was shown his second yellow card after 95 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 97th minute, Benediktas Kantauskas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC NATIONAL's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
