After the first half Nea Salamis were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Ruud Nistelrooy made the kick off in the second half. If Ankaios Garofalis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pipo Inzaghi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Kheiron Kouropoulos made a huge save. In the 69th minute Nea Salamis were awarded a corner. Pipo Inzaghi went to the cornerflag to take it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timoteo Michael in the 71st minute of play forced Nea Salamis's goalkeeper Antonis Nikopolidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Nea Salamis's goal looked a bit too open when Ankaios Garofalis came free, but Antonis Nikopolidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pipo Inzaghi got free with Kheiron Kouropoulos in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 77 minutes of play, Nea Salamis's Pipo Inzaghi made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kheiron Kouropoulos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Wawrzyniec Puchlik made in the 80th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by ΑΦΕΝΤΙΚΟ's Evripidis Picoulas. The supporters of Nea Salamis booed when ΑΦΕΝΤΙΚΟ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Spiros Bekyros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antonis Nikopolidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Spiros Bekyros in the 89th minute of play. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind ΑΦΕΝΤΙΚΟ's goalkeeper Kheiron Kouropoulos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Timoteo Michael recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle sounded Nea Salamis left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than ΑΦΕΝΤΙΚΟ.
