In the 20th minute Alkibiades Kutras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Koulis Mestas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Nea Salamis's goal looked a bit too open when Iphitos Gravari came free, but Antonis Nikopolidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nea Salamis's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. Thanks to some nice moves Iphitos Gravari could shoot a difficult shot in the 75th minute, which Antonis Nikopolidis however easily saved by the left post. Antonis Nikopolidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anestis Katsambis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antonis Nikopolidis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Themis Pantelakos in the 78th minute of the match. Nea Salamis's Antonis Nikopolidis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Nea Salamis from getting a goal against them. Koulis Mestas came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Nea Salamis's Darko Kovačević. But to his dismay, Darko Kovačević quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. Mánthia's Koulis Mestas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darko Kovačević in the 85th minute of play. Anestis Katsambis succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-6 in the 86th playminute. 89 minutes into the match, Mánthia's goal looked a bit too open when Darko Kovačević came free, but Koulis Mestas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anestis Katsambis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Antonis Nikopolidis came out and tried to block the shot, but Anestis Katsambis slotted it home off the left post making it 2-7 in the 100th minute. The Mánthia players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
