Empire of Soccer's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Furo Bolas in the 20th minute. It was a well-played corner which Teukros Diplarakos managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Ladislao Harriet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Antonis Nikopolidis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Uriel Malvin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alkibiades Kutras, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Nea Salamis's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Harriet came free, but Antonis Nikopolidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ladislao Harriet took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Antonis Nikopolidis. Antonis Nikopolidis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ladislao Harriet in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Antonis Nikopolidis saved Nea Salamis from getting behind. Antonis Nikopolidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ladislao Harriet in the 33rd minute of play. Ladislao Harriet's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Antonis Nikopolidis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Antonis Nikopolidis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ladislao Harriet went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 43rd minute Ladislao Harriet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonis Nikopolidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Empire of Soccer were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Nea Salamis's Darko Kovačević was substituted for Pipo Inzaghi. After 53 minutes, Çağan Hürsoy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nea Salamis and the Empire of Soccer players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 53 played minutes Nea Salamis got a freekick which was hit by Çağan Hürsoy. After a rather tough play, Empire of Soccer's Ladislao Harriet got a free kick in the 57th minute. Ladislao Harriet's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Antonis Nikopolidis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. In the 61st minute Empire of Soccer were awarded a corner. Furo Bolas went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Empire of Soccer's corner Xanthos Fikias fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Antonis Nikopolidis quite easily take care of the ball. After 63 minutes Nea Salamis's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Furo Bolas who took care of the corner kick. Xanthos Fikias made a great header on Empire of Soccer's corner, it was just that Nea Salamis's Antonis Nikopolidis managed to reach the ball for a save. Nea Salamis's Çağan Hürsoy managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Edvaldo Branco in the 64 minute of the game. Ladislao Harriet's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 67thth minute, Antonis Nikopolidis skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ladislao Harriet scored 0-4 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Antonis Nikopolidis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 82nd minute, Ladislao Harriet reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Antonis Nikopolidis. The goal made the score 1-5. With an all-out effort, Empire of Soccer's Antonis Nikopolidis threw himself towards the right post 85 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ladislao Harriet, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 90th minute, Ladislao Harriet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Antonis Nikopolidis was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6. Ladislao Harriet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonis Nikopolidis having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Empire of Soccer had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
