Kastus Nikanovich made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pavel Evtushenko in the 4th minute of play. Tadeuz Sobolev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Tadeuz Sobolev came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the FC Fred Perry fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tadeuz Sobolev couldn't finish the play. In the 14th minute Vladimir Rekun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kastus Nikanovich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kastus Nikanovich showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergey Grabovsky in the 15th minute of the match. Tadeuz Sobolev recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tadeuz Sobolev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Tadeuz Sobolev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 23rd play minute Carlos José Bustillos came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Svetapolk Garbuz. 1-0. 26 minutes into the game, Sergey Grabovsky was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brest's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Fred Perry the free kick. Sergey Grabovsky kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Brest's Vladimir Rekun got his second yellow card of the match in the 27th minute. The referee ordered Vladimir Rekun off the ground. After 28 played minutes Brest got a freekick which was hit by Vladimir Rekun. A collision led to Brest getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Pavel Evtushenko hit a great ball. When Vasily Shilov fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Fred Perry's protests and gave Vasily Shilov a yellow card for diving instead. In the 31st minute, Vasily Shilov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Fred Perry's Kastus Nikanovich played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergey Grabovsky in the 32nd minute of play. Tadeuz Sobolev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Svetapolk Garbuz having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Carlos José Bustillos fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Svetapolk Garbuz, passed just outside the right post. 46 minutes into the match, Brest's goalkeeper Svetapolk Garbuz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tadeuz Sobolev. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Tadeuz Sobolev made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Brest booed when FC Fred Perry was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vasily Shilov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kastus Nikanovich stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pavel Evtushenko's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. If Pavel Evtushenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Brest's Sergey Grabovsky got a free kick in the 58th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Carlos José Bustillos managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Fred Perry's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos José Bustillos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Svetapolk Garbuz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sergey Grabovsky received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Kastus Nikanovich tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, FC Fred Perry's goal looked a bit too open when Sergey Grabovsky came free, but Kastus Nikanovich reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 72 minutes, Pavel Evtushenko made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. FC Fred Perry's Kastus Nikanovich tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeuz Sobolev in the 88th minute of play forced Brest's goalkeeper Svetapolk Garbuz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Tadeuz Sobolev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FC Fred Perry had played much better football throughout.
