Stanislav Medvedev might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Timofey Gavrilov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stanislav Medvedev ran back to his position shaking his head. 10 minutes into the match, Mogilev's goal looked a bit too open when Juras Nekrasov came free, but Timofey Gavrilov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Timofey Gavrilov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juras Nekrasov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Mogilev getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Haryton Razumny hit a great ball. 16 minutes into the game, Dmitry Rak was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mogilev's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gomel the free kick. 19 minutes into the match, Gomel's goal looked a bit too open when Dmitry Tabunov came free, but Branislav Zdanovich reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Dmitry Tabunov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 31 minutes into the match, Mogilev's Dmitry Tabunov sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Branislav Zdanovich narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 36 minutes, Stanislav Medvedev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gomel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stanislav Medvedev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dmitry Tabunov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Branislav Zdanovich read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Stanislav Medvedev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Timofey Gavrilov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dmitry Tabunov made a kick off. Branislav Zdanovich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Konstantin Pirogov, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Mogilev's defense didn't have a chance, in the 60th minute, when Stanislav Medvedev scored to the left of an out of position Timofey Gavrilov, making the score, 0-2. After 65 played minutes Gomel got a freekick which was hit by Frol Dvorezky. After having played for 67 minutes, Stanislav Medvedev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gomel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stanislav Medvedev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dmitry Tabunov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Dmitry Tabunov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Branislav Zdanovich was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. In the 76th match minute, Gomel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nazar Atrahovich to maneuver through the defense. Stanislav Medvedev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 82 played minutes Mogilev got a freekick which was hit by Platon Malashevich. After 95 played minutes Gomel got a freekick which was hit by Juras Nekrasov. The Gomel supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Gomel would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
