The audience thought a goal was coming when Lilcho Belinski got free with Vlado Genov in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 11 minutes into the match, Lilcho Belinski notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Glawazi's Vlado Genov. Vlado Genov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Boris Ninchev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the match, Glawazi's Boris Ninchev sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Todor Lambrev narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 20 played minutes Akademik Sofia got a freekick which was hit by Ruslan Bizhev. Vlado Genov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bozhin Bashliyski in the 25th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Rusi Ignatov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Todor Lambrev was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. If Rusi Ignatov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rusi Ignatov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Todor Lambrev having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Boris Ninchev in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Todor Lambrev saved Akademik Sofia from getting behind. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Boris Ninchev stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bozhin Bashliyski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Vlado Genov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bozhin Bashliyski in the 56th minute of play forced Glawazi's goalkeeper Vlado Genov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Akademik Sofia getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Simo Stamov hit a great ball. Todor Lambrev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boris Ninchev in the 67th minute of the match. When Valkan Chiplakov fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Akademik Sofia's protests and gave Valkan Chiplakov a yellow card for diving instead. Rusi Ignatov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Todor Lambrev having to interfere. Anzhelo Solarov charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anzhelo Solarov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 80 played minutes Glawazi got a freekick which was hit by Anzhelo Solarov. Boris Ninchev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Todor Lambrev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boris Ninchev in the 89th minute of the match. Boris Ninchev's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Todor Lambrev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. Despite being the better team, Glawazi failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
