When Svetlin Karagitliev came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the CSKA Lomtsi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Svetlin Karagitliev couldn't finish the play. In the 9th minute, Tinko Dinov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brunko Belov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Svetlin Karagitliev in the 11th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Soldiers's zone, Edi Ralovski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brunko Belov came out of the goal and Edi Ralovski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Toncho Geraskov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Gergin Tafradzhiyski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 18 minutes into the match, Asparuh Konsulov notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of CSKA Lomtsi's Gergin Tafradzhiyski. Gergin Tafradzhiyski was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. CSKA Lomtsi were furious when Toshko Sergeev was red carded, 22 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 21 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Soldiers reached it. After having played for 35 minutes, Tzocho Drazhev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CSKA Lomtsi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tzocho Drazhev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Soldiers's goalkeeper Brunko Belov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 39th minute Tzocho Drazhev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brunko Belov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 40 minutes, Elin Pironkov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CSKA Lomtsi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elin Pironkov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. CSKA Lomtsi's supporters rose to their feet, but Tzocho Drazhev was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brunko Belov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toncho Geraskov in the 47th minute of play forced CSKA Lomtsi's goalkeeper Gergin Tafradzhiyski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Asparuh Konsulov made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Velyo Kodzhamanov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Brunko Belov. Soldiers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Velyo Kodzhamanov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Gergin Tafradzhiyski made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Toncho Geraskov sent off a good shot on target.
