After 8 played minutes Botrov got a freekick which was hit by Vanko Lyubenov. After having played for 10 minutes, Vangel Toshanov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A.C. Milan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vangel Toshanov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 12 minutes into the game, Vangel Toshanov recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Evstati Mentov. Vangel Toshanov showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If Nedko Dudovski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Radul Boyadzhiev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Genadi Kasev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stoyo Pironski in the 22nd minute of play. The supporters of Botrov booed when A.C. Milan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nikifor Slivov didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 24 minutes, Radul Boyadzhiev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Botrov's supporters crossed their fingers, but Radul Boyadzhiev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 29th minute, Yasen Pendov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Evstati Mentov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vangel Toshanov in the 31st minute of the match. Genadi Kasev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stoyo Pironski, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. After a defensive mix-up in A.C. Milan's zone, Stoyo Pironski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Genadi Kasev came out of the goal and Stoyo Pironski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Stoyo Pironski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stoyo Pironski in the 42nd minute of play forced A.C. Milan's goalkeeper Genadi Kasev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diyan Videlov took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 45th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Evstati Mentov. Botrov's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Vangel Toshanov made the kick off in the second half. Radul Boyadzhievs short, quick shot in the 51stth minute got Genadi Kasev to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Radul Boyadzhiev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genadi Kasev having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, A.C. Milan's goalkeeper Genadi Kasev had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Radul Boyadzhiev. 65 minutes into the match, Botrov's goal looked a bit too open when Vangel Toshanov came free, but Evstati Mentov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Botrov's Evstati Mentov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nedko Dudovski in the 67th minute of play. If Nedko Dudovski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evstati Mentov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vangel Toshanov in the 72nd minute of play. Evstati Mentov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vangel Toshanov in the 78th minute of the match. When Stoyo Pironski came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Botrov fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stoyo Pironski couldn't finish the play. Yasen Pendov kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
