Stoyne Seymenski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Chudomir Zayakov made a huge save. In the 17th minute, Tzanyo Stranski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice moves Stoyne Seymenski could shoot a difficult shot in the 21st minute, which Chudomir Zayakov however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nedelcho Batalov in the 22nd minute of play forced US Citta di PALERMO's goalkeeper Chudomir Zayakov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pavlin Abanozov in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chudomir Zayakov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Chudomir Zayakov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Stoyne Seymenski went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Botev's Nedelcho Batalov got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Zahir Älişov came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by US Citta di PALERMO's Damyan Marangozov. But to his dismay, Damyan Marangozov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Stoyne Seymenski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chudomir Zayakov having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Damyan Marangozov to strike the kick off in the second half. Chudomir Zayakov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pavlin Abanozov, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute.
