If Stamen Kunchev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 9 minutes into the match, Vladko Berkov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valentin Genkov. Chelsea Shumen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vladko Berkov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After some careless play in the Chelsea Shumen defense, Stamen Kunchev kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valentin Genkov. The Chelsea Shumen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valentin Genkov should have stopped the shot. In the 19th minute of the match Stanko Mustakerski shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valentin Genkov showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stamen Kunchev in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valentin Genkov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Denimir Laskov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Teodosi Doshev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chelsea Shumen's Asen Púrvov shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 26th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Teodosi Doshev but with some difficulty. When Dzhoronliy's Mladen Babinov in 27 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Valentin Genkov guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 29th minute, Denimir Laskov reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Teodosi Doshev. The goal made the score 1-2. In the 32nd minute, Stamen Kunchev ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valentin Genkov was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Valentin Genkov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mladen Babinov in the 38th minute of the match. After having played for 45 minutes, Fotyo Kosachev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dzhoronliy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fotyo Kosachev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Denimir Laskov to make the kick off. Teodosi Doshev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denimir Laskov, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. The audience was convinced that Denimir Laskov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Teodosi Doshev was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Radoy Kabranski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 65 played minutes Dzhoronliy got a freekick which was hit by Fotyo Kosachev. Chelsea Shumen's Valentin Genkov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stamen Kunchev in the 78th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stanyo Tzarev during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 81st minute there was a penalty for Dzhoronliy. Toncho Denkin stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Valentin Genkov. 1-4. Valentin Genkov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stamen Kunchev, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Valentin Genkov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stamen Kunchev in the 89th minute of play. In the 93rd minute Denimir Laskov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodosi Doshev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dzhoronliy played a much better game than Chelsea Shumen and deserved their victory. The Chelsea Shumen players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
