The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 4 minutes, Sokol Sinapov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 7th minute of the match Toni Trendafilov sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yonko Gugov skillfully saved the ball. Sokol Sinapov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 12th minute Simeon Bukarev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yonko Gugov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yonko Gugov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sokol Sinapov, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Eroteev during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Simeon Bukarev recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zhivko Kolchev might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yonko Gugov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sokol Sinapov in the 23rd minute of play forced Kurkudzha's goalkeeper Yonko Gugov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Toni Vangelov fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Beroe SZ's protests and gave Toni Vangelov a yellow card for diving instead. In the 28th match minute, Beroe SZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toni Vangelov to maneuver through the defense. Yonko Gugov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simeon Bukarev in the 38th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sokol Sinapov in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yonko Gugov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Beroe SZ's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Tzeno Makriev 42 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Beroe SZ's Dencho Dzhotev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Beroe SZ from getting a goal against them. 48 minutes into the match, Beroe SZ's goalkeeper Dencho Dzhotev had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chavdar Belezhkov. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sokol Sinapov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Kurkudzha got a freekick which was hit by Milko Machkanov. Sokol Sinapov might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yonko Gugov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sokol Sinapov ran back to his position shaking his head. Evgeni Daalov kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sokol Sinapov in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yonko Gugov saved Kurkudzha from getting behind. Chavdar Belezhkov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dencho Dzhotev having to interfere. Beroe SZ's Simeon Bukarev got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Yonko Gugov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sokol Sinapov in the 71st minute of the match. Sokol Sinapov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yonko Gugov having to interfere. In the 77th minute Sokol Sinapov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yonko Gugov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Kurkudzha's zone, Sokol Sinapov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yonko Gugov came out of the goal and Sokol Sinapov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kurkudzha's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Sokol Sinapov 84 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. If Sokol Sinapov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Simeon Bukarev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yonko Gugov was a little too slow when Sokol Sinapov got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 95th minute. The score was now 1-2.
