An unexpectedly hard shot by Haralampi Maystorov in the 17th minute of play forced Manchester United's goalkeeper Tenyo Petleshkov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goal looked a bit too open when Haralampi Maystorov came free, but Tenyo Petleshkov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Haralampi Maystorov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Tenyo Petleshkov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Germain Tissandier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tzonko Mutafov in the 36th minute of play. If Zhivko Derventski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, Tzonko Mutafov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tenyo Petleshkov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haralampi Maystorov in the 44th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tzonko Mutafov was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Tzonko Mutafov took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Germain Tissandier to make any attempt to save it. Radul Koshlukov made in the 56th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by FC GRANIT's Blagoy Ogoyski. A collision led to Manchester United getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Grisha Rúklyov hit a great ball. 57 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goal looked a bit too open when Haralampi Maystorov came free, but Tenyo Petleshkov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Manchester United's zone, Tomislav Shirkov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tenyo Petleshkov came out of the goal and Tomislav Shirkov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. During the 63rd minute of the match Blagoy Ogoyski completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Blagoy Ogoyski a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Blagoy Ogoyski kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Tenyo Petleshkov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomislav Shirkov in the 70th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomislav Shirkov in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tenyo Petleshkov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zhivko Derventski during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The Manchester United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Manchester United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
