An unexpectedly hard shot by Nesho Gidikov in the 3rd minute of play forced Mladinowo's goalkeeper Zhecho Strandzhev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mladinowo's Zhecho Strandzhev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grozdan Chervenski in the 32nd minute of play. Zhecho Strandzhev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yoncho Geshkov in the 35th minute of play. Спартак Кюстендил's Velichko Funev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anton Babinov in the 36th minute of play. Zhecho Strandzhev came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Спартак Кюстендил's Grozdan Chervenski. But to his dismay, Grozdan Chervenski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 43rd minute, Milcho Maslenkov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Спартак Кюстендил were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anton Babinov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Grozdan Chervenski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zhecho Strandzhev having to interfere. Velichko Funev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Prodan Púkov in the 54th minute of the match. Tzvetan Kyurkchiyski's late challenge caught a Mladinowo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tzvetan Kyurkchiyski helped the player get up and apologised. 56 minutes into the game, one of Спартак Кюстендил:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Mladinowo a penalty, 60 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Lulcho Ambarev, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Спартак Кюстендил's Velichko Funev. 1-1. In the 63rd match minute, Спартак Кюстендил was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tzvetan Kyurkchiyski to maneuver through the defense. Zhecho Strandzhev was out of position in the 75 minute of play, and Grozdan Chervenski capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Grozdan Chervenski really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Mladinowo's Adam Aprilov got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 86th minute, Grozdan Chervenski made a precise shot to the right of Zhecho Strandzhev. Mladinowo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. An unexpected shot in the 90th minute by Yoncho Geshkov got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Mladinowo's Zhecho Strandzhev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Mladinowo from getting a goal against them. In the 95th minute Nesho Gidikov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zhecho Strandzhev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 97 minutes into the match, Mladinowo's goal looked a bit too open when Anko Damyanski came free, but Zhecho Strandzhev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Mladinowo supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Спартак Кюстендил's performance. The match ended with a win for Спартак Кюстендил.
