The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, AC Red Bull Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Yanek Markovski came free, but Tervel Peychinov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 6th minute, Vitko Masúrski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. AC Red Bull Stars were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after Siymen's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tzeno Lyutzkanov took the corner. AC Red Bull Stars's Tzeno Lyutzkanov was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Namiq Zülfüqarov in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 16 minutes into the game, AC Red Bull Stars's Viden Shumanov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Namiq Zülfüqarov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geno Goshev during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 18th match minute, Siymen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geno Goshev to maneuver through the defense. AC Red Bull Stars's Tzeno Lyutzkanov got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Siymen's Namiq Zülfüqarov got control of the ball when Viden Shumanov tried to sneak it across the goal line. Siymen's Namiq Zülfüqarov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tzeno Lyutzkanov in the 26th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Viden Shumanov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Namiq Zülfüqarov was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Milcho Penelov scored 3-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tervel Peychinov, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 39 minutes into the match, Velichko Dungarov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tervel Peychinov. AC Red Bull Stars's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Velichko Dungarov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Viden Shumanov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Namiq Zülfüqarov having to interfere. Namiq Zülfüqarov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viden Shumanov in the 45th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Viden Shumanov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Stoycho Zotov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AC Red Bull Stars and the Siymen players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to AC Red Bull Stars getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Stoycho Zotov hit a great ball. Siymen's Grisha Stanilov got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Viden Shumanov might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Namiq Zülfüqarov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Viden Shumanov ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 57th minute, Vitko Masúrski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. AC Red Bull Stars's Vitko Masúrski got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Siymen's Namiq Zülfüqarov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viden Shumanov in the 64th minute of play. Tervel Peychinov was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Milcho Penelov capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Milcho Penelov really showed his touch with that goal: 3-3. Viden Shumanov struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Namiq Zülfüqarov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AC Red Bull Stars. Tzeno Lyutzkanov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Namiq Zülfüqarov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, Siymen's goal looked a bit too open when Bogomil Kalfov came free, but Namiq Zülfüqarov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Tzeno Lyutzkanov managed to get in a good position for a shot. AC Red Bull Stars's supporters rose to their feet, but Tzeno Lyutzkanov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Namiq Zülfüqarov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Viden Shumanov struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Namiq Zülfüqarov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AC Red Bull Stars. Yanek Markovski charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yanek Markovski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Yanek Markovski kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. If Vitko Masúrski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
