The audience thought a goal was coming when Darin Danailov got free with Bozhin Tuhchiev in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 53 minutes into the match, Trendafil Bitolski dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bozhin Tuhchiev, 0-2. In the 61st minute Trendafil Bitolski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bozhin Tuhchiev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iskren Damov kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. FC Köln's Dragolyub Gúrdanov got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Trifon Karolev in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Grisha Kukenski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 72 minutes into the game, Trendafil Bitolski recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bozhin Tuhchiev. Trendafil Bitolski showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. Darin Danailov who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 78thth minute tested the skills of Bozhin Tuhchiev when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dragolyub Gúrdanov during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Iskren Damov kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Trifon Karolev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Grisha Kukenski having to interfere. After having played for 85 minutes, Rayko Sergeev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Köln's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rayko Sergeev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Slaveyko Sokachev struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Grisha Kukenski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Köln.
