Zhecho Tomev stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bastian Caes's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Hristo Zlatanchev scored 0-2 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maksim Kindekov, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Maksim Kindekov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rosen Penchovski went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, FC Arsenal Varna's 任明岩 got a free kick in the 34th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lyuben Vlaykovski in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Maksim Kindekov saved ПФК Ботев Пловдив from getting behind. 41 minutes into the match, ПФК Ботев Пловдив's goal looked a bit too open when Rosen Penchovski came free, but Maksim Kindekov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After 52 minutes, Miroslav Súbev mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ПФК Ботев Пловдив and the FC Arsenal Varna players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rosen Penchovski got free with Maksim Kindekov in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 62 minutes into the game, Rosen Penchovski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Maksim Kindekov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 67th minute FC Arsenal Varna were awarded a corner. Adalbert Mindizov went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Adalbert Mindizov got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Maksim Kindekov quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 70th minute Bastian Caes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zhecho Tomev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maksim Kindekov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rosen Penchovski in the 71st minute. FC Arsenal Varna's Radko Leshkov managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Miroslav Súbev in the 77 minute of the game. Rosen Penchovski took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Maksim Kindekov. Maksim Kindekov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-8. ПФК Ботев Пловдив's Maksim Kindekov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save ПФК Ботев Пловдив from getting a goal against them. In a very dangerous position, a player in ПФК Ботев Пловдив fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 92nd minute. Penalty! Adalbert Mindizov shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. 任明岩's late challenge caught a ПФК Ботев Пловдив's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain.
