Xaqani Hacibäyov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Badı Dursunov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Babäk Abdulrähmanov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Müşfiq Denisov's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Müşfiq Denisov in the 13th minute of play forced Bakili PFK's goalkeeper Babäk Abdulrähmanov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Gäncä PFK's goal looked a bit too open when Qäşäm Bändäliyev came free, but Badı Dursunov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Badı Dursunov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Qäşäm Bändäliyev in the 20th minute of the match. Qäşäm Bändäliyev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Badı Dursunov having to interfere. If Firdovsi Azakov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute, Müşfiq Denisov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Firdovsi Azakov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Müşfiq Denisov was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 30th minute. Gäncä PFK's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a rather tough play, Bakili PFK's Äläsgär Yolçiyev got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Gäncä PFK's zone, Qäşäm Bändäliyev stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Badı Dursunov came out of the goal and Qäşäm Bändäliyev tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 42 minutes in the game, Müşfiq Denisov fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Babäk Abdulrähmanov having to interfere. After 45 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gäncä PFK! The referee gave Bakili PFK a penalty, 47 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Eyvaz Ağakärimov, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gäncä PFK's Badı Dursunov. 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Qäşäm Bändäliyev stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Babäk Abdulrähmanov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Müşfiq Denisov in the 59th minute of the match. Äläkbär Azayev's late challenge caught a Gäncä PFK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Äläkbär Azayev helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Gäncä PFK booed when Bakili PFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Äläkbär Azayev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gäncä PFK's Mätläb Tağiyev couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 61st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Bakili PFK. After a rather tough play, Bakili PFK's Äläkbär Azayev got a free kick in the 64th minute. After 65 minutes, Hätäm Süleymanov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bakili PFK and the Gäncä PFK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hätäm Süleymanov hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute, Müşfiq Denisov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Qäşäm Bändäliyev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bakili PFK's goalkeeper Babäk Abdulrähmanov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Babäk Abdulrähmanov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Müşfiq Denisov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gäncä PFK's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
