The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd match minute, Qazı Mämmäd FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barat Hätämov to maneuver through the defense. Äli Äläkbärov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Mehdi Ağayarov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Täbriz Abdulxaliqov in the 5th minute of play forced Qazı Mämmäd FK's goalkeeper Mehdi Ağayarov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Täbriz Abdulxaliqov sped through Qazı Mämmäd FK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mehdi Ağayarov. Imran Balacayev scored 0-3 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mehdi Ağayarov, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Yasin Adigözälov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ähmädağa Äsrinov in the 22nd minute of the match. Ämircan's Isgändär Fätäliyev suffered a concussion in the 24th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Mirsaad Babişov charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mirsaad Babişov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mehdi Ağayarov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Imran Balacayev in the 27th minute of the match. After 29 minutes of play Qazı Mämmäd FK's Mirsaad Babişov was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 29 played minutes Qazı Mämmäd FK got a freekick which was hit by Mirsaad Babişov. In the 32nd minute Ilham Seyidov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mehdi Ağayarov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, Ämircan's goalkeeper Yasin Adigözälov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abbas Alduxov. Mehdi Ağayarov came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Ämircan's Imran Balacayev. But to his dismay, Imran Balacayev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Täbriz Abdulxaliqov, 39 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 41 minutes into the match, Täbriz Abdulxaliqov notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Qazı Mämmäd FK's Mehdi Ağayarov. Mehdi Ağayarov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 45 minutes into the match, Ämircan's goal looked a bit too open when Ähmädağa Äsrinov came free, but Yasin Adigözälov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47thth minute of the game Ilham Seyidov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Qazı Mämmäd FK's Mehdi Ağayarov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ähmädağa Äsrinov was the one to do the kick off. Äli Äläkbärov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mehdi Ağayarov having to interfere. After 54 minutes, Barat Hätämov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Qazı Mämmäd FK and the Ämircan players grew even worse after the yellow card. During the 55th minute of the match Barat Hätämov completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Barat Hätämov a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The audience was convinced that Täbriz Abdulxaliqov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mehdi Ağayarov was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Täbriz Abdulxaliqov in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mehdi Ağayarov saved Qazı Mämmäd FK from getting behind. A collision led to Qazı Mämmäd FK getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Bäxtiyar Cahangirov hit a great ball. Äli Äläkbärov might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mehdi Ağayarov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Äli Äläkbärov ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 68 minutes, Ilham Seyidov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ämircan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ilham Seyidov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Ämircan booed when Qazı Mämmäd FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abbas Alduxov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Täbriz Abdulxaliqov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute, Äli Äläkbärov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mehdi Ağayarov was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. Äli Äläkbärov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mehdi Ağayarov having to interfere. Mehdi Ağayarov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Täbriz Abdulxaliqov in the 85th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Äli Äläkbärov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mehdi Ağayarov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Täbriz Abdulxaliqov, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Ämircan's Sahib Ramazanov was substituted for Äli Äläkbärov.
