They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Rashed Al Hadhod could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but José Augusto de Queiroz made a huge save. A collision led to Neftci getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Islam Ähädli hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Neftci's Iqbal Babakişiyev got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 90th minute, Hubert Gielnik made a precise shot to the right of Julio Corral. FK Baku's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. When the match was over FK Baku could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Neftci throughout the match.
