Zia Taheri didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kouros Ahmadzadeh went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Soroush Alavi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaveh Shiri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Soroush Alavi made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Siavash Kazemi sent off a good shot on target. In the 20thth minute of the game Kaveh Shiri who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rayleigh's Soroush Alavi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Mostafa Habibi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zia Taheri was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. 38 minutes into the match, Manchester AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Mostafa Habibi came free, but Zia Taheri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kouros Ahmadzadeh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Zia Taheri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kaveh Shiri made a kick off. After recieving a nice pass, Manchester AFC's Jahangir Sadeghi tried to score from far away in the 55th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After having played for 59 minutes, Mostafa Habibi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rayleigh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mostafa Habibi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Shahrdad Mobali during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee gave Manchester AFC a penalty, 73 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jahangir Sadeghi, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Rayleigh's Soroush Alavi. 1-1. The Manchester AFC fans' excitement grew in the 78th match minute when Manchester AFC's Siavash Kazemi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Siavash Kazemi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Siavash Kazemi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Soroush Alavi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mostafa Habibi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 88thth minute tested the skills of Zia Taheri when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Siavash Kazemi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Soroush Alavi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Manchester AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Rayleigh had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
