The referee ignored Perspolis's protests and gave Shahram Nouri a yellow card for diving instead. In the 27th minute, Shahram Nouri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pasha Rahnama showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danush Sanei in the 32nd minute of the match. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Ulverston AFC's Sahand Delnavaz got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
