When Perspolis's Shahyar Jabbari, in the 6th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Perspolis. Farrokh Hasanpour missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 10 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Pasha Rahnama right hand side. In the 12th minute, Behrad Barzegar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ardavan Sanei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Perspolis's Pasha Rahnama played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Asghar Kaebi in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Younes Ghomi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The VIVA FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Perspolis's Amin Akbarpour got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Asghar Kaebi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 28 minutes in the game Behrad Barzegar did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Shahyar Jabbari. Farzin Sohrabpour made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shahram Nouri in the 31st minute of play. VIVA FC's Ardavan Sanei got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 42 minutes, Payam Sharifi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Perspolis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Payam Sharifi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. VIVA FC's Farzin Sohrabpour played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shahyar Jabbari in the 43rd minute of play. With a little luck, Perspolis's Pasha Rahnama got control of the ball when Younes Ghomi tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

VIVA FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Perspolis the free kick. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. VIVA FC had played much better football throughout.
