Mehrak Zandi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Khashayar Bagheri read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. With a little luck, Herne Hill United's Ardeshir Montazeri got control of the ball when Shahrdad Iranian tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 27th minute, Shahrdad Iranian ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ardeshir Montazeri was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Nader Eshkevari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ardeshir Montazeri having to interfere. Khashayar Bagheri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mehrak Zandi in the 46th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nader Eshkevari in the 47th minute of play forced Herne Hill United's goalkeeper Ardeshir Montazeri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Saman Ghanad's late challenge caught a Great Bookham's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ardeshir Montazeri stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Shahrdad Iranian's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. 71 minutes into the match, Great Bookham's goalkeeper Khashayar Bagheri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mehrak Zandi. Khashayar Bagheri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yaghoub Marfavi in the 78th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Yaghoub Marfavi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Khashayar Bagheri was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. If Shahrdad Iranian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
