After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Amir Parsa Rad managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bolton City's supporters rose to their feet, but Amir Parsa Rad was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Soheil Mazloumi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Perspolis's zone, Amir Parsa Rad stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Soheil Mazloumi came out of the goal and Amir Parsa Rad tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Soheil Mazloumi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amir Parsa Rad in the 37th minute of play. Majid Jalaeepour showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peyman Mofti in the 41st minute of the match. Mahbod Farahmand recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Peyman Mofti was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Bolton City's goal looked a bit too open when Peyman Mofti came free, but Majid Jalaeepour reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bolton City's Majid Jalaeepour proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Bolton City from getting a goal against them. Perspolis's Zia Tayebi got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 67 minutes into the match, Perspolis's goal looked a bit too open when Mahbod Farahmand came free, but Soheil Mazloumi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Majid Jalaeepour was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Soheil Mazloumi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amir Parsa Rad in the 79th minute of play. In the 80th minute Amir Parsa Rad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Soheil Mazloumi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Zia Tayebi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peyman Mofti kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. 86 minutes into the match, Bolton City's goalkeeper Majid Jalaeepour had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zia Tayebi. In the 87th minute, Kian Khalatbari hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Perspolis's Soheil Mazloumi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amir Parsa Rad in the 94th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Perspolis's Shaheen Alavi got a free kick in the 95th minute. The Bolton City supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Perspolis's performance. The match ended with a win for Perspolis.
