Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Arsalnn Bazargan kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the match, Sadra Kazemzadeh had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Soheil Mazloumi. Perspolis's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sadra Kazemzadeh was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Rahim Ghoreishi came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Perspolis's Peyman Mofti. But to his dismay, Peyman Mofti quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 14 minutes into the match, Birkenhead's goal looked a bit too open when Peyman Mofti came free, but Rahim Ghoreishi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 14 minutes into the game, Gholam Artoonian was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Birkenhead's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Perspolis the free kick. After 15 played minutes Birkenhead got a freekick which was hit by Gholam Artoonian. After some careless play in the Birkenhead defense, Zia Tayebi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rahim Ghoreishi. The Birkenhead fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rahim Ghoreishi should have stopped the shot. Perspolis's Soheil Mazloumi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arsalnn Bazargan in the 22nd minute of play. Arsalnn Bazargan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Soheil Mazloumi having to interfere. Birkenhead's Gholam Artoonian got his second yellow card of the match in the 33rd minute. The referee ordered Gholam Artoonian off the ground. The supporters of Perspolis booed when Birkenhead was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gholam Artoonian didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Zia Tayebi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rahim Ghoreishi was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Jamshid Zandi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Rahim Ghoreishi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zia Tayebi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rahim Ghoreishi having to interfere. The Birkenhead players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Perspolis were winning 1-2.

After 53 played minutes Perspolis got a freekick which was hit by Zia Tayebi. If Zia Tayebi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zia Tayebi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sadra Kazemzadeh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Soheil Mazloumi having to interfere. If Zia Tayebi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Birkenhead booed when Perspolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zakaria Kavianpour didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sadra Kazemzadeh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Soheil Mazloumi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute Sadra Kazemzadeh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Soheil Mazloumi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rahim Ghoreishi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zia Tayebi in the 82nd minute. Arsalnn Bazargan struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Soheil Mazloumi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Birkenhead. Perspolis's Soheil Mazloumi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sadra Kazemzadeh in the 90th minute of play. If Zia Tayebi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Perspolis eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
