Ghalib Aijaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steven Deveraux having to interfere. Eltham FC's Vernon Fordham got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Petersfield's Mubashar Haroon got control of the ball when Franz Hyde tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 46 minutes, Hanif Abbas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Petersfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hanif Abbas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 47 played minutes Eltham FC got a freekick which was hit by Sid Parkin. The Eltham FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Petersfield were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Ghalib Aijaz made the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Safdar Shamshad took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Steven Deveraux to make any attempt to save it. If Vernon Fordham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vernon Fordham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Steven Deveraux made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hanif Abbas in the 63rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ghalib Aijaz in the 65th minute of play forced Eltham FC's goalkeeper Steven Deveraux to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Steven Deveraux managed to avoid a goal in the 87thth minute, when Petersfield's Hanif Abbas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Martyn Newell was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 92 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute, one of Eltham FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Eltham FC. The referee gave Petersfield a penalty, 95 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Zeeshan Dogar, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Eltham FC's Steven Deveraux. 2-4.
