But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Razi Khawaja couldn't finish the play. Callington AFC's Kirk Fenton got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Callington AFC's Olly Stiles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Callington AFC from getting a goal against them. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Razi Khawaja was the one to do the kick off. Hassam Football Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Callington AFC the free kick. The Hassam Football Club support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
