Melton Mowbray's Sohaib Jamal got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 4 minutes of play, Melton Mowbray's Jaleel Paracha made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. After a defensive mix-up in Melton Mowbray's zone, Rodney Pamplin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Imran Musharraf in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Darryl Leighton saved Windsor from getting behind. Jaleel Paracha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Darryl Leighton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. When Peter Barber fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Windsor's protests and gave Peter Barber a yellow card for diving instead. After 18 played minutes Windsor got a freekick which was hit by Peter Barber. Darryl Leighton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaleel Paracha in the 28th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sohaib Jamal in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Darryl Leighton saved Windsor from getting behind. Sohaib Jamal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Razi Intisar fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Melton Mowbray's protests and gave Razi Intisar a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th match minute, Melton Mowbray was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Razi Intisar to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 42 minutes, Umair Bilal successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Umair Bilal came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Windsor's Rodney Pamplin. But to his dismay, Rodney Pamplin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 47 minutes into the match, Windsor's goal looked a bit too open when Jaleel Paracha came free, but Darryl Leighton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sohaib Jamal to strike the kick off in the second half. Windsor's Peter Barber got his second yellow card of the match in the 51st minute. The referee ordered Peter Barber off the ground. In the 54th minute, Melton Mowbray's Sohaib Jamal dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. After 57 played minutes Melton Mowbray got a freekick which was hit by Razi Intisar. In the 58th minute, Phil Fowler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Melton Mowbray's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sohaib Jamal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Windsor's Garry Rusby got a free kick in the 66th minute. Windsor's Darryl Leighton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Windsor from getting a goal against them. Rodney Pamplin hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. The supporters of Melton Mowbray booed when Windsor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodney Pamplin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sohaib Jamal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Darryl Leighton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sohaib Jamal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darryl Leighton having to interfere. The supporters of Windsor booed when Melton Mowbray was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Javed Akram didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th match minute, Melton Mowbray was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Razi Intisar to maneuver through the defense. 91 minutes into the match, Windsor's goal looked a bit too open when Sohaib Jamal came free, but Darryl Leighton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
