Clive Hawkins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Clive Hawkins kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Stroud United's Ahmad Jaffar got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Stroud United were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

54 minutes into the match, Shoeburyness AFC's Nathan Dearden sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Taimoor Awais narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee ignored Stroud United's protests and gave Ahmad Jaffar a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Stroud United getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Ahmad Jaffar hit a great ball. In the 72nd minute, Parvaiz Asif fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ruben Whitehead, passed just outside the right post. 76 minutes into the match, Stroud United's goal looked a bit too open when Nathan Dearden came free, but Taimoor Awais reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hakim Basharat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Ruben Whitehead tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute, one of Shoeburyness AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Shoeburyness AFC. The goalkeeper, Ruben Whitehead, was totally fooled by Stroud United's Saeed Chaudary, who 86 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 91 minutes into the match, Parvaiz Asif dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ruben Whitehead, 0-8. Shoeburyness AFC's Ruben Whitehead played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Parvaiz Asif in the 98th minute of play.
