Match Report
Hinckley
Spectators: 9282 (Terracing: 6963,
Seating: 2135, VIP seats: 184) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Mahmood ul-Hassan took the kick off in the first half of the match. Yusaf Lodhi was a little too slow when Tayyab Fida got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 4th minute. The score was now 1-0. 11 minutes into the match, Hassan Shan notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Hinckley's Imran Mukhtar. Imran Mukhtar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hilperton's Yusaf Lodhi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yasir Barlas in the 15th minute of play. Yusaf Lodhi was a little too slow when Mahmood ul-Hassan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 2-1. If Ali Mohsin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mahmood ul-Hassan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Yusaf Lodhi made a huge save. When Hamid Lodhi fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hilperton's protests and gave Hamid Lodhi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Hilperton getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Hamid Lodhi hit a great ball. In the 27th minute, Tayyab Fida reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Yusaf Lodhi. The goal made the score 3-1. Yusaf Lodhi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tayyab Fida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mahmood ul-Hassan struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Yusaf Lodhi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hinckley. The supporters of Hinckley booed when Hilperton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yasir Chaughtai didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Hinckley fans' excitement grew in the 42nd match minute when Hinckley's Mahmood ul-Hassan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Hilperton getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Hassan Shan hit a great ball. Yusaf Lodhi made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Mahmood ul-Hassan sent off a good shot on target. If Hassan Shan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hassan Shan to make the kick off. After 54 minutes of play, Hinckley's Mahmood ul-Hassan made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Yusaf Lodhi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Yusaf Lodhi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tayyab Fida in the 57th minute of the match. After 64 played minutes Hilperton got a freekick which was hit by Hamid Lodhi. Tayyab Fida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 67 minutes into the match, Shabir Khawaja had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Yusaf Lodhi. Hilperton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Shabir Khawaja was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-1. Hilperton's Yusaf Lodhi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sami Usmani in the 70th minute of play. Yusaf Lodhi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Javaid Ijaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Hilperton defense, Yasir Barlas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yusaf Lodhi. The Hilperton fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yusaf Lodhi should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Hilperton's zone, Shabir Khawaja stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yusaf Lodhi came out of the goal and Shabir Khawaja tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 79 minutes into the game, Kamil Waqas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hilperton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hinckley the free kick. After a rather tough play, Hilperton's Kamil Waqas got a free kick in the 79th minute. Yusaf Lodhi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tayyab Fida, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Yasir Barlas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yusaf Lodhi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tayyab Fida in the 85th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Razzaq Dogar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 90th minute, Yasir Barlas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hinckley's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
