The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to MW-KEKUI getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Sheraz Lodhi hit a great ball. Atif Azhar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hunain Eitazaz having to interfere. With a little luck, MW-KEKUI's Hunain Eitazaz got control of the ball when Atif Azhar tried to sneak it across the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Islamabad Royals's goal looked a bit too open when Waqas Mannan came free, but Razi Mirza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute Zaib Khan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hunain Eitazaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute, Atif Azhar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iman Kashan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 18 minutes, Sheraz Lodhi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MW-KEKUI's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sheraz Lodhi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hunain Eitazaz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Arif Moeez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 35 minute of play. Iman Kashan struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Razi Mirza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MW-KEKUI. Hunain Eitazaz made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Atif Azhar sent off a good shot on target. In the 70th minute Zaib Khan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hunain Eitazaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Atif Azhar in the 94th minute of play forced MW-KEKUI's goalkeeper Hunain Eitazaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hunain Eitazaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaib Khan in the 96th minute of the match. Islamabad Royals walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
