The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fahad Al Hadad during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 6th minute, Fahad Al Hadad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jassem Dashti in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sajid Al Qattan saved Sheikh Zayad Road from getting behind. If Jassem Dashti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, Sheikh Zayad Road's goal looked a bit too open when Jassem Dashti came free, but Sajid Al Qattan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jassem Dashti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Sajid Al Qattan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, Khalel Al Banai was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sheikh Zayad Road's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave North Shields the free kick. In the 21st match minute, Sheikh Zayad Road was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Khalel Al Banai to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Jassem Dashti managed to get in a good position for a shot. North Shields's supporters rose to their feet, but Jassem Dashti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sajid Al Qattan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 26 minutes, Faraj Al Harban managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sheikh Zayad Road's supporters crossed their fingers, but Faraj Al Harban was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 27 played minutes North Shields got a freekick which was hit by Sayed Al Abdullah. North Shields's Oun Al Dosery proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save North Shields from getting a goal against them. Sajid Al Qattan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jassem Dashti in the 35th minute of play. In the 37th minute of the match Qasem Al Sherazi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sajid Al Qattan showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zahid Al Dekhel to make the kick off. Zahid Al Dekhel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Faraj Al Harban scored 1-0 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Oun Al Dosery, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fahad Al Hadad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oun Al Dosery having to interfere. Faraj Al Harban received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Oun Al Dosery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute Zahid Al Dekhel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oun Al Dosery saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in North Shields's zone, Zahid Al Dekhel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oun Al Dosery came out of the goal and Zahid Al Dekhel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mahdi Khorshed's late challenge caught a North Shields's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mahdi Khorshed helped the player get up and apologised. Jassem Dashti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Sajid Al Qattan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jassem Dashti struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Sajid Al Qattan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for North Shields. Faraj Al Harban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 89 minutes into the match, Sheikh Zayad Road's goalkeeper Sajid Al Qattan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zahid Al Sallal. The audience was convinced that Faraj Al Harban's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oun Al Dosery was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. Oun Al Dosery came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Sheikh Zayad Road's Zahid Al Dekhel. But to his dismay, Zahid Al Dekhel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0.
