Waheed Al Hajri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waheed Al Baghli, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Istanbul Forever's goalkeeper Nawaf Sarkhoh, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Belal Al Mulaifi hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. The supporters of Wakefield booed when Istanbul Forever was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Belal Al Mulaifi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute, Moath Al Muwail got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Yazeed Al Dabos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wakefield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yazeed Al Dabos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 78th minute Moath Al Muwail shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nawaf Sarkhoh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Yazeed Al Dabos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Hakem Al Shemali fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Istanbul Forever's protests and gave Hakem Al Shemali a yellow card for diving instead. Hakem Al Shemali kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Faris Al Homaithe hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Nawaf Sarkhoh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yazeed Al Dabos in the 91st minute of the match. If Moath Al Muwail had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 98 minutes of play, Wakefield's Yazeed Al Dabos made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nawaf Sarkhoh was left in no man's land by his defense there! There was no doubt that Wakefield were the better team. Wakefield's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
