FC Aktobe's Georgiy Kalakutskiy got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in FC Irtysh Pavlodar's zone, Igor Klebanov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fedor Kudryavtsev came out of the goal and Igor Klebanov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of FC Aktobe booed when FC Irtysh Pavlodar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sergey Baikovskiy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Igor Klebanov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Fedor Kudryavtsev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valentin Lyubomirov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Boris Kudryavtsev got free with Mikhail Petuhov in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 31 minutes into the match, FC Irtysh Pavlodar's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Klebanov came free, but Fedor Kudryavtsev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, FC Irtysh Pavlodar's Viktor Bogoslovskiy got a free kick in the 32nd minute. FC Aktobe's Mikhail Petuhov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viktor Bogoslovskiy in the 35th minute of play. Fedor Kudryavtsev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Georgiy Kalakutskiy in the 38th minute of the match. If Boris Kudryavtsev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Valentin Lyubomirov to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Fedor Burlyaev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Aktobe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fedor Burlyaev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 57 minutes into the match, Georgiy Kalakutskiy had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fedor Kudryavtsev. FC Irtysh Pavlodar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Georgiy Kalakutskiy was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Boris Kudryavtsev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute, Oleg Gulyaev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Valentin Lyubomirov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The tension between the FC Irtysh Pavlodar and the FC Aktobe players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fedor Kudryavtsev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Klebanov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
