In the 10th match minute, Hexham United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marat Gorodetskiy to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute, Dmitriy Medvedev got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Lee's Eduard Ogorodnikov got a free kick in the 15th minute. Pavel Bidash didn't quite understand what happened when in the 17 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Vyacheslav Kapustin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valeriy Shatilov having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Hexham United's zone, Dmitriy Medvedev stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valeriy Shatilov came out of the goal and Dmitriy Medvedev tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vyacheslav Kapustin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Valeriy Shatilov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Lee booed when Hexham United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pavel Doroshin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute, Oleg Belunin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lee fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Spiridon Altman got free with Valeriy Shatilov in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Vyacheslav Kapustin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dmitriy Medvedev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the game, Pavel Bidash was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hexham United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lee the free kick. If Dmitriy Medvedev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aleksandr Byshovets was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Pavel Bidash sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Lee's Georgiy Kovtun didn't even have to move. The audience was convinced that Vyacheslav Kapustin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valeriy Shatilov was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. After 58th play minutes Vyacheslav Kapustin shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Valeriy Shatilov and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vyacheslav Kapustin in the 61st minute of play forced Hexham United's goalkeeper Valeriy Shatilov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Aleksandr Byshovets took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Georgiy Kovtun to make any attempt to save it. After having played for 67 minutes, Vyacheslav Kapustin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lee's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vyacheslav Kapustin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee ended the match the Lee players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
