But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Varlam Potemin couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonid Aleshintsev in the 7th minute of play forced Downton FC's goalkeeper David Florenskiy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 8th minute of the game. One of Formby:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Downton FC:s goal. In the 10th minute, the referee gave Downton FC a penalty. David Korogodin looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Vyacheslav Arhipov. Varlam Potemin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Vyacheslav Arhipov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20thth minute of the game Leonid Aleshintsev who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Downton FC's David Florenskiy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pavel Kirponos scored 1-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of David Florenskiy, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 28 minutes into the match, Varlam Potemin notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Formby's Vyacheslav Arhipov. Vyacheslav Arhipov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Kirill Shevchuk fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Downton FC's protests and gave Kirill Shevchuk a yellow card for diving instead. Vyacheslav Arhipov didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Downton FC's Varlam Potemin shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Filimon Prosenko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filimon Prosenko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leonid Aleshintsev to make the kick off. Vyacheslav Arhipov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kirill Shevchuk in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 54th minute Varlam Potemin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vyacheslav Arhipov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Downton FC booed when Formby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Potap Lanovoy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Downton FC's Filimon Prosenko got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Formby's zone, Filimon Prosenko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vyacheslav Arhipov came out of the goal and Filimon Prosenko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Varlam Potemin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Vyacheslav Arhipov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Filimon Prosenko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vyacheslav Arhipov having to interfere. Pavel Kirponos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but David Florenskiy made a huge save. After 80 played minutes, Formby's Stanislav Garkalin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper David Florenskiy came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Formby reached it. Leonid Aleshintsev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute.
