The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Georgiy Grodetskiy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrey Zurabov in the 3rd minute of play. Aleksey Koni's late challenge caught a Спартак Семей's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aleksey Koni helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Shaftesbury's Aleksey Koni got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Artem Bezrodnyi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The long shot by Evgeniy Klontsak in the 7th minute really tested Rudolf Fomichev's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Artem Bezrodnyi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Rudolf Fomichev made a huge save. Vadim Gendelev recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vadim Gendelev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Georgiy Grodetskiy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Artem Bezrodnyi lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Rudolf Fomichev. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Andrey Kapustin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shaftesbury's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrey Kapustin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Georgiy Grodetskiy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 28th minute of the game. One of Спартак Семей:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Shaftesbury:s goal. In the 29th minute there was a penalty for Shaftesbury. Osip Semenov stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Georgiy Grodetskiy. 1-1. In the 35th minute of the match Osip Semenov shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Georgiy Grodetskiy showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Georgiy Grodetskiy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrey Zurabov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Georgiy Grodetskiy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shaftesbury. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vadim Gendelev in the 43rd minute of play forced Спартак Семей's goalkeeper Georgiy Grodetskiy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vadim Gendelev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Georgiy Grodetskiy having to interfere. Georgiy Grodetskiy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vadim Gendelev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vadim Gendelev stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Vadim Gendelev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Georgiy Grodetskiy acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 58th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Artur Anferov. Shaftesbury's Rudolf Fomichev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albert Anufriev in the 61st minute of play. Andrey Zurabov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74thth minute of the game Vadim Gendelev who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Спартак Семей's Georgiy Grodetskiy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 81st match minute, Shaftesbury was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrey Zurabov to maneuver through the defense. Спартак Семей's Georgiy Grodetskiy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Спартак Семей from getting a goal against them. 86 minutes into the match, Shaftesbury's goal looked a bit too open when Albert Anufriev came free, but Rudolf Fomichev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute Timur Gradskiy suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Leonid Kobylyanskiy fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Спартак Семей's protests and gave Leonid Kobylyanskiy a yellow card for diving instead. In the 93rd minute, Leonid Kobylyanskiy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andrey Zurabov who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Georgiy Grodetskiy when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Shaftesbury played a much better game than Спартак Семей and deserved their victory. The Спартак Семей players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
