In the 17th minute Gleb Maslyukov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Taras Kulalaev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Vitaliy Mironov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 19 minutes into the game, Evgeniy Kokoshnikov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Canvey Island FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sutton in Ashfield AFC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Canvey Island FC's Evgeniy Kokoshnikov got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 21st minute, Aleksey Stukalov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Evlampiy Mamatov was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Taras Kulalaev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gleb Maslyukov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mark Dyachkov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Sutton in Ashfield AFC booed when Canvey Island FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Canvey Island FC had won after a very even match.
