Sergey Balbatun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Innokentiy Pashin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 8th minute, Torpoint's Aleksandr Medvedev ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind German Butuzov. German Butuzov yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Artem Grishin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Welwyn Garden City City's German Butuzov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rostislav Tyschenko in the 14th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aleksandr Medvedev got free with German Butuzov in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artem Grishin in the 21st minute of play forced Torpoint's goalkeeper Sergey Balbatun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Artem Grishin managed to get in a good position for a shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
