After 22 played minutes, Moreton United's Sergey Kondratiev shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Filimon Evel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Moreton United reached it. Petr Chervitskiy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Bury St Edmunds's Boris Moiseev got a free kick in the 26th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Bury St Edmunds's goal looked a bit too open when Pavel Volochkov came free, but Filimon Evel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Denis Bolotov came free with the goalkeeper in the 32nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Stanislav Migulin could save by the left post. Gleb Gorskiy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Stanislav Migulin made a huge save. Trofim Borkin kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Oleg Ermakov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Filimon Evel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pavel Volochkov took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Filimon Evel. Filimon Evel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leonid Evseev during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Moreton United's Rustam Karyaka was substituted for Leonid Nikolenko. Leonid Evseev kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. After the first half Moreton United were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pavel Volochkov to make the kick off. Pavel Volochkov might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Filimon Evel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bury St Edmunds's Denis Bolotov managed to work through Moreton United's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Denis Bolotov dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in.
