The supporters of Bury St Edmunds booed when Flushing was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zinoviy Abaidulin didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Vadim Gnezditskiy kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Filimon Evel. That made the score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zinoviy Abaidulin got free with Filimon Evel in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 39 minutes, Arseniy Artemev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flushing's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arseniy Artemev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Filimon Evel, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 46 minutes, Arseniy Artemev mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Flushing and the Bury St Edmunds players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 46 played minutes Flushing got a freekick which was hit by Arseniy Artemev. Bury St Edmunds's Denis Bolotov got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vadim Gnezditskiy to strike the kick off in the second half. Bury St Edmunds's Filimon Evel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vadim Gnezditskiy in the 51st minute of play. Zinoviy Abaidulin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Filimon Evel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Vadim Gnezditskiy ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Filimon Evel was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After 62 played minutes Flushing got a freekick which was hit by Aleksandr Kirichenko. 66 minutes into the match, Bury St Edmunds's goal looked a bit too open when Vadim Gnezditskiy came free, but Filimon Evel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bury St Edmunds were furious when Roman Kontorovich was red carded, 67 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 67th minute, one of Bury St Edmunds:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Bury St Edmunds. Bury St Edmunds:s Filimon Evel showed great skill when he stopped Sergey Semenenko:s penalty. A collision led to Flushing getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Aleksandr Kirichenko hit a great ball. Petr Tochilin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Denis Bolotov in the 75th minute. Zinoviy Abaidulin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filimon Evel having to interfere. Denis Bolotov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Denis Bolotov came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Bury St Edmunds fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denis Bolotov couldn't finish the play. After having played for 95 minutes, Vadim Gnezditskiy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flushing's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vadim Gnezditskiy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 97 minutes into the game, Oleg Gusev was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Flushing's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bury St Edmunds the free kick. In the 98th match minute, Flushing was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oleg Gusev to maneuver through the defense. Daniil Chernov shot a long shot in the 99th minute and a light blocked Petr Tochilin hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 3-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Flushing had won after a very even match.
