Gong Kun Zhen started the match with the kick off. Petr Zakharov charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Petr Zakharov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 3rd match minute, Dinamo Almaty was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petr Zakharov to maneuver through the defense. 7 minutes into the match, Dinamo Almaty's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimir Alferov came free, but Altuğ Vefi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 8th match minute, Dinamo Almaty was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dmitriy Lepeshkevich to maneuver through the defense. Afşar Uzgoren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gong Kun Zhen's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Vladimir Alferov sped through Dinamo Almaty's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Altuğ Vefi. In the 15th minute, Vladimir Alferov made a precise shot to the right of Altuğ Vefi. Dinamo Almaty's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Cristopher Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Afşar Uzgoren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. After 23 minutes Galatasaray's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Feliciano Schlubach who took care of the corner kick. Aleksandr Balaban was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Vladimir Alferov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Galatasaray's Tytus Raschke got a free kick in the 29th minute. Galatasaray's Afşar Uzgoren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gong Kun Zhen in the 30th minute of play. Leonid Gulyaev hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Feliciano Schlubach was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 34th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 38th minute Gong Kun Zhen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afşar Uzgoren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Galatasaray's Kryspin Kasprzykowski got a free kick in the 39th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Galatasaray's zone, Gong Kun Zhen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afşar Uzgoren came out of the goal and Gong Kun Zhen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vladimir Alferov struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Altuğ Vefi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galatasaray.

In the 52nd minute, Vladimir Alferov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Altuğ Vefi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. A collision led to Dinamo Almaty getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Feliciano Schlubach hit a great ball. 63 minutes into the match, Galatasaray's Leonid Gulyaev broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 70 minutes into the match, Dinamo Almaty's Gong Kun Zhen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Afşar Uzgoren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristopher Murillo in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Afşar Uzgoren saved Galatasaray from getting behind. Dinamo Almaty's Valerio Isias was substituted for Gong Kun Zhen. In the 81st minute Cristopher Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afşar Uzgoren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Afşar Uzgoren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valerio Isias in the 81st minute of play. Vladimir Alferov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Altuğ Vefi made a huge save. In the 86th minute, Valerio Isias made a precise shot to the right of Afşar Uzgoren. Galatasaray's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. The supporters of Dinamo Almaty booed when Galatasaray was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimir Alferov didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Dinamo Almaty supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Galatasaray's performance. The match ended with a win for Galatasaray.
