The referee ignored GÓRNIK ZABRZE's protests and gave Artem Alymov a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Dinamo Almaty booed when GÓRNIK ZABRZE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artem Alymov didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 9 minutes of play, Dinamo Almaty's Eleuterio Guilabertus made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mark Van De Broeck was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mark Van De Broeck came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Dinamo Almaty's Gong Kun Zhen. But to his dismay, Gong Kun Zhen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After 18 minutes, Eleuterio Guilabertus made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. GÓRNIK ZABRZE's Mark Van De Broeck tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Eleuterio Guilabertus's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mark Van De Broeck was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Vladimir Loginov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark Van De Broeck having to interfere. After 30 played minutes Dinamo Almaty got a freekick which was hit by Aleksandr Balaban. Altuğ Vefi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Márton Irmai's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Paulino Pierredonda made in the 35th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Feliciano Schlubach immediately put the ball in play. Mark Van De Broeck stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eleuterio Guilabertus's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. 38 minutes into the game, Dinamo Almaty's Eleuterio Guilabertus nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mark Van De Broeck made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Gong Kun Zhen took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mark Van De Broeck. Mark Van De Broeck dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. After the first half Dinamo Almaty were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With an all-out effort, Dinamo Almaty's Mark Van De Broeck threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eleuterio Guilabertus, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Artem Alymov was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 53 minutes had been played. The crowd rose to their feet as Gong Kun Zhen kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mark Van De Broeck. That made the score 0-7 in the 54 minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 59 minutes, Mark Van De Broeck successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the match clock showed 62 minutes, the score became 1-7 when Márton Irmai sped through Dinamo Almaty's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Altuğ Vefi. Mark Van De Broeck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristopher Murillo in the 65th minute of the match. Mark Van De Broeck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gong Kun Zhen, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After 70 minutes of play, Dinamo Almaty's Aleksandr Balaban made it 1-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mark Van De Broeck was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 76th match minute, GÓRNIK ZABRZE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Katon Feryanto to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute Gong Kun Zhen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark Van De Broeck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mark Van De Broeck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amancio Luke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 87 minutes into the game, Márton Irmai was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GÓRNIK ZABRZE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dinamo Almaty the free kick. In the 87th minute, Márton Irmai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, GÓRNIK ZABRZE's Mihail Nichitelea got a free kick in the 88th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aleksandr Balaban in the 93rd minute of play forced GÓRNIK ZABRZE's goalkeeper Mark Van De Broeck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Márton Irmai came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the GÓRNIK ZABRZE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Márton Irmai couldn't finish the play. GÓRNIK ZABRZE's Mark Van De Broeck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gong Kun Zhen in the 97th minute of play. When the match was over Dinamo Almaty could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than GÓRNIK ZABRZE throughout the match.
