Stasio Cetnar came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Donnington AFC's Alex Dixon. But to his dismay, Alex Dixon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Stasio Cetnar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Dixon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 18 minutes, Doug Ryder mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bow City and the Donnington AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 18th match minute, Bow City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doug Ryder to maneuver through the defense. Tim Blacksmith received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Stasio Cetnar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stasio Cetnar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tim Blacksmith's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. In the 29th minute, Bow City's Jonathan Kershaw seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jonathan Kershaw the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Bow City protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jonathan Kershaw had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 28 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bow City! The referee gave Donnington AFC a penalty, 31 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hugh Endean, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Bow City's Stasio Cetnar. 0-2. 33 minutes into the match, Benjamin Ellerby notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Bow City's Stasio Cetnar. Stasio Cetnar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 41st minute, Doug Ryder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tim Blacksmith in the 46th minute of play forced Bow City's goalkeeper Stasio Cetnar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alex Dixon was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Bow City's Jerry Wilkes got a free kick in the 51st minute. When Hugh Endean came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Donnington AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hugh Endean couldn't finish the play. 54 minutes into the match, Bow City's goalkeeper Stasio Cetnar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tim Blacksmith. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fatih Sehriyar in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Harry Rusby prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 57th match minute, Bow City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfred Jenkins to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jerry Wilkes during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 60th minute, Jerry Wilkes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Donnington AFC's Hugh Endean got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Stasio Cetnar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Dixon, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. 75 minutes into the match, Bow City's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Dixon came free, but Stasio Cetnar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bow City's Doug Ryder got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Donnington AFC booed when Bow City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trevor Woodyat didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alex Dixon hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Stasio Cetnar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Dixon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hugh Endean took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Stasio Cetnar. Bow City's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Donnington AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
