Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Donnington AFC's Alex Dixon started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Walshaw United getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Ray Moorhouse hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alex Dixon in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Scott Joy saved Walshaw United from getting behind. Alex Dixon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 10 minutes into the game, one of Donnington AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Harry Rusby went to the wrong direction when Glyn Swallow was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Harry Rusby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ron Huckerby in the 14th minute of the match. Alex Dixon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Scott Joy having to interfere. Tim Blacksmith blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Scott Joy having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Sebastian Hutchinson took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Harry Rusby to make any attempt to save it. Tim Blacksmith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Dixon in the 33rd minute of play forced Walshaw United's goalkeeper Scott Joy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alex Dixon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Alex Dixon put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Scott Joy. In the 40th minute, Benjamin Ellerby hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Harry Rusby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Hutchinson in the 47th minute of the match.

If Alex Dixon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sebastian Hutchinson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Harry Rusby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 58 played minutes Walshaw United got a freekick which was hit by Jonathon Grigg. Sebastian Hutchinson might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Harry Rusby. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastian Hutchinson ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastian Hutchinson in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Harry Rusby saved Donnington AFC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matt Spink in the 77th minute of play forced Donnington AFC's goalkeeper Harry Rusby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matt Spink recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Donnington AFC's Harry Rusby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Hutchinson in the 82nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Donnington AFC defense, Matt Spink kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Harry Rusby. The Donnington AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Harry Rusby should have stopped the shot. With his leg Scott Joy managed to avoid a goal in the 89thth minute, when Donnington AFC's Tim Blacksmith fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Sebastian Hutchinson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Donnington AFC's zone, Matt Spink stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harry Rusby came out of the goal and Matt Spink tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Alex Dixon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
