Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jasper Griffin started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Lasham's zone, Amedeo Bordon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brynn Sledge came out of the goal and Amedeo Bordon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brynn Sledge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rod England in the 5th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Alveley United's goalkeeper Graham Skinner had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Trevor Beesley. Marcus Överman kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Trevor Beesley got free with Graham Skinner in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Alveley United's Graham Skinner got control of the ball when Trevor Beesley tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 20th minute Leroy Fox suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. When Amedeo Bordon fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alveley United's protests and gave Amedeo Bordon a yellow card for diving instead. After 22 played minutes Alveley United got a freekick which was hit by Amedeo Bordon. With his leg Graham Skinner managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Lasham's Trevor Beesley fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Trevor Beesley's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 30thth minute, Graham Skinner skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Brynn Sledge came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Alveley United's Rod England. But to his dismay, Rod England quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Brynn Sledge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodney Blewitt in the 40th minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Rod England made a precise shot to the right of Brynn Sledge. Lasham's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After the first half Alveley United were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rod England made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Lasham's Trevor Beesley got a free kick in the 51st minute. 53 minutes into the match, Lasham's Keanu King sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Graham Skinner narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rod England sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th match minute, Lasham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gary Greaves to maneuver through the defense. When Lasham's Trevor Beesley in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Alveley United's goalie prevented a goal. After 65 played minutes Alveley United got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Överman. After a rather tough play, Alveley United's Silvester Kershaw got a free kick in the 68th minute. A collision led to Lasham getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Wally Le Saux hit a great ball. 73 minutes into the match, Trevor Beesley had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Graham Skinner. Alveley United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Trevor Beesley was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. A collision led to Alveley United getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Joseph Lamb hit a great ball. Trevor Beesley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Graham Skinner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rod England's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 82ndth minute, Brynn Sledge skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Alveley United getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Marcus Överman hit a great ball. Graham Skinner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trevor Beesley, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Rod England recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lasham's Brynn Sledge proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Lasham from getting a goal against them. Rod England received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Brynn Sledge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alveley United's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
