Damion Allott received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Sean Bolton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Greg Paine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leif Barka in the 16th minute of play. If Leif Barka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 32 played minutes Liverpool FC got a freekick which was hit by Kris Emmerson. Liverpool FC's Sean Bolton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caleb Prior in the 33rd minute of play. Joel Blackburn struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Sean Bolton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Walmley AFC. If Leif Barka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Greg Paine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reuben Ablethorpe in the 45th minute of the match. Walmley AFC's Greg Paine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leif Barka in the 46th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Leif Barka made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Liverpool FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Jools Stubbs hit a great ball. If Leif Barka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joel Blackburn's late challenge caught a Liverpool FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joel Blackburn helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Walmley AFC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Joel Blackburn hit a great ball. Sean Bolton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caleb Prior, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Leif Barka could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Greg Paine made a huge save. 72 minutes into the match, Leif Barka had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Greg Paine. Walmley AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leif Barka was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 87 minutes into the game, Leif Barka lined in a short shot 0-3 behind a frustrated Greg Paine. Greg Paine was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Jools Stubbs. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Liverpool FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
