The coaching staff of Maradona FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jeremy Potter had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After a rather tough play, Liverpool FC's Kevin Hutchings got a free kick in the 10th minute. Stefan Moyse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Sean Bolton managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when Maradona FC's Samuel Bennett fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jonny Hicks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leif Barka in the 17th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Maradona FC's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Flintoff came free, but Jonny Hicks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Maradona FC's goal looked a bit too open when Reuben Ablethorpe came free, but Jonny Hicks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Leif Barka made a precise shot to the right of Jonny Hicks. Maradona FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Vincent Haines hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. 39 minutes into the match, Maradona FC's Samuel Bennett sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sean Bolton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 40th minute of the match Maradona FC got a corner. Liverpool FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jeremy Hulbert ran over to the corner to take the kick. Leif Barka received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Jonny Hicks tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonny Hicks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Flintoff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Samuel Bennett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leif Barka stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Samuel Bennett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sean Bolton came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Maradona FC's Vincent Haines. But to his dismay, Vincent Haines quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Jonny Hicks made an important save on a dangerous shot by Howard Horseman in the 63rd minute. In the 75th minute, Ron Tipton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ron Tipton hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. If Samuel Bennett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sean Bolton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ron Tipton, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Liverpool FC's zone, Ron Tipton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sean Bolton came out of the goal and Ron Tipton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Maradona FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Liverpool FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Liverpool FC.
